Summer BioBlitz Citizen Science Walk

Discover the incredible diversity of Dune Harbor Park during our Summer BioBlitz Citizen Science Walk! Whether you're an experienced naturalist or simply curious about the outdoors, this free community event is a fun way to explore nature while contributing to real scientific research. Using your smartphone and the free iNaturalist app, we'll hike through Dune Harbor Park documenting the plants, animals, fungi, and insects we encounter along the way. Every observation helps scientists, land managers, and conservation organizations better understand local biodiversity. As we explore, we'll discuss why biodiversity is essential to healthy ecosystems, learn how native species support one another, and discover simple actions we can take to protect wildlife and natural habitats in our own communities. The Summer BioBlitz Citizen Science Walk is also a great opportunity to meet local naturalists, connect with fellow outdoor enthusiasts, improve your species identification skills, and maybe even discover a new favorite plant or animal. This event is open to all ages and experience levels. Whether you're joining your first BioBlitz or you're already an avid iNaturalist user, everyone is welcome to participate.
