Children's Sunday School

Sunday School Begins for All Ages - Sept. 13 Get ready for an exciting time of Christ centered learning and community as Sunday School returns with classes for Pre-K, upper and lower elementary, and adults! Our K-5 Children's Choir will also begin rehearsing on September 13. Sunday School and Children's Choir take place between the Old Chapel Worship (9 a.m.) and Sanctuary worship (11 a.m.) services so that all can participate, regardless of preferred worship time. All are welcome to participate at any time, including non-members. Help us keep your children safe and happy. Register for the Fun! Registration is required for children to participate in Sunday School and Friday Fun Night. New this year, a designated adult signature is required for Sunday School and Friday Fun Night dismissal. Contact Children's Ministries Director Linda de Vries at linda@centralmoravianchurch.org for more information. 9 a.m. Old Chapel Worship: This worship service includes a children's message, and children's packets and bulletins. (Children's packets are also available at our 11 a.m. Sanctuary worship - look in the nursery in the West Room or ask a sacristan). Children of all ages, if parents choose, are dismissed after the children's message (around 9:30 a.m.). See details below. Parents are always welcome to accompany their child if desired. 9:30 a.m. (Approximate): Children's Choir/Pre-K Free Play: Following the children's message, Children's Choir Director, Linda de Vries will lead children from the Old Chapel to the lower level of the C.E. building. All ages will begin with a brief time of singing Sunday School songs together. Pre-K children will then go to the 1st floor C.E. classroom for a time of supervised free play, while the K-5 children will stay on the lower level for a more in-depth choir rehearsal. 10-10:45 a.m.: Pre-K (ages 2 - Pre-K): 1st floor, C. E. building classroom. This classroom is filled with age-appropriate Pre-K toys. Let's play and learn about God's love together! Classes for our little ones may include a short bible lesson or story, songs, prayer, coloring, or a simple craft. Ruth Ferrey, helper. Lower Elementary: Lower level, C. E. building classroom. Younger children starting in kindergarten will gather around the colorful Noah's ark rug to engage with bible stories, videos, wonderful crafts, and creative activities to learn about Jesus. Kelly Ahn, Lynne Brolly, and Pat Metcalf teachers. Upper Elementary: Lower level, C. E. building (former library). Our older children will enjoy their own space, complete with colorful rockers. This class will center around biblical, faith building topics and questions. With humor, journaling, and creative thinking, students will learn what it means to live in Christian faith.
