Public Hearing - Local Option Gas Tax

  NOTICE OF INTENT - PUBLIC HEARING   NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, will conduct a Public Hearing to consider extending the local option gas tax, entering into updated interlocal agreements with the City of Vero Beach, City of Sebastian, City of Fellsmere, Town of Indian River Shores and Town of Orchid; and consideration for adoption of the amended ordinance entitled:    AN ORDINACNE OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY,  FLORIDA, EXTENDING THE LOCAL OPTION GAS TAX FOR 30 YEARS AND AMENDING THE  DISPOSITION OF PROCEEDS.    The Public Hearing will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at 9:05 a.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, in the County Commission Chambers located on the first floor of Building A of the County Administrative Complex, 1801 27th Street, Vero Beach, Florida 32960, at which time interested parties may be heard with respect to the proposed resolution.   The proposed ordinance may be inspected by the public during regular business hours (8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday) at the County Attorney’s Office located on the second floor of Building A of the County Administrative Complex, 1801 27th Street, Vero Beach, Florida; or alternatively, the agreement may be inspected at www.indianriver.gov.   Anyone who may wish to appeal any decision which may be made at this meeting will need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which includes testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is based.   Anyone who needs a special accommodation for this meeting must contact the County's Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) Coordinator at 772-226-3491 at least 48 hours in advance of the meeting.   INDIAN RIVER COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS   DERYL LOAR, CHAIRMAN
