This week we will be looking at James 2:1-4 and the sin of favoritism. Below is some info to help you dig a little deeper into God's Word. Favoritism / προσωποληψία: an idiom, that literally means, to accept a face; to make unjust distinctions between people by treating one person better than another. Favoritism is judging others by external appearances alone. The action described by this word is always evil in Scripture. Favoritism is only used four times in the New Testament: Romans 2:11, Ephesians 6:9, Colossians 3:25, James 2:1.
