Chimney Swift Night Out

Ever seen a bird tornado? Northwest Middle School has the unique distinction of being one of Winston-Salem's most prominent Chimney Swift roosts this time of year. Each September, Forsyth Audubon hosts a Chimney Swift Night Out, observing and enjoying this spectacular natural phenomenon. The peak of the vortex should occur around 8 PM, as civil twilight sets in. But come before sunset to peruse our education table or enjoy a Chimney Swift themed arts and craft. Bring a chair and come ready to be amazed!
