Join FreeInsights Tour: For the Future Registration Required Experience the special exhibition For the Future: Collecting at the UMFA 2001-2026 through the eyes of Museum staff members. This 45-minute tour will provide insights into the works of art on view, their unique histories, and the ways the Museum stewards them. This free Insights Tour will be led by Alisa McCusker, senior curator at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts! American art encompasses an extraordinary range of creative expression, including Indigenous practices dating back thousands of years, traditional modes of painting and sculpting of European origin, as well as modern and contemporary forms engaged on the global stage. Alisa McCusker, Curator of European and American Art, leads a tour of some of the UMFA's most noteworthy art acquisitions in the past 25 years that have broadened and deepened the Museum's representation of the richness of American history, culture, and life. Related Exhibition For the Future For the Future: Collecting at the UMFA 2001-2026 celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Marcia and John Price Museum Building by showcasing some of the Utah Museum of Fine Art's most notable art acquisitions of the past 25 years. Learn More Alisa McCusker, PhD, is Senior Curator and Curator of European and American Art at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts. She is a specialist in Renaissance art and works on paper and has curated and co-curated numerous exhibitions on a range of topics, including on medieval and early modern book illustration, Japanese woodblock prints, American Regionalism, and contemporary art in the American West. Previously she served as Curator of European and American Art at the Museum of Art and Archaeology at the University of Missouri. She holds a doctorate in art history from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Arts in art history and museum studies from the joint program between Case Western Reserve University and the Cleveland Museum of Art.
