LEE COUNTY, NC – March 23, 2026 – Lee County Senior Games and SilverArts launched the 2026 season with an Opening Ceremony held at the Lee County Enrichment Center on Wednesday, March 18. The ceremony featured recognition for past winners and competitors, with a keynote speech given by Joyce Rosser, who represented Lee County at the 2025 Senior Games National Finals. Rosser and Thomas Harrington were also inducted into the Lee County Senior Games and SilverArts (SGSA) Hall of Fame. Throughout the ceremony, SilverArts performances were given and medalists were announced, with James Annis winning gold and Best of Show for his dance performance. SilverArts entries will be on display at the Lee County Enrichment Center through May 5. First, second, and third place ribbons designate winners in the exhibit. The most senior SGSA participant, Monica Patterson, lit the ceremonial torch to officially kick off the 2026 Lee County Senior Games and SilverArts. The Senior Games will be held between March 21 and April 30, 2026 across the county with a Closing Ceremony and Awards Banquet taking place on May 5 at 6:00 p.m. at the Lee County Enrichment Center (registration required).
