Tour the Dominy Shops 8/22

During this guided tour of the Dominy Shops Museum, you'll learn how three generations of East Hampton's most acclaimed woodworkers and craftsmen made everything from cradles to coffins in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. You'll see the restored carpentry and clockmaking shops along with the Dominys' reconstructed house, which now serves as an exhibition gallery. Two exhibitions are currently on view: Made to Order: The Dominy Craftsmen and their Customers, which examines the local residents who commissioned tools and furniture from the Dominys, and a new exhibit entitled, ONCE UPON A TIME: Dominy Crafted Clocks 1768 to 1828, featuring over 10% of the clocks that the Dominys are known to have made. 73 North Main Street, East Hampton Free for Members and $12 for Non-Members.
