Join FreeThe Guild of the Chicago History Museum invites you to their kickoff event of the season as we celebrate the Guild's generosity and contributions toward the reopening of Facing Freedom. Newly reopened and refreshed for the 250th anniversary of the United States, Facing Freedom explores the ongoing story of American freedom through the actions, movements, and voices of people who have demanded their freedom and created change. Peter T. Alter, CHM chief historian and director of the Studs Terkel Center for Oral History, will take us inside several of the stories featured in the exhibition, offering a deeper look at topics ranging from the women's suffrage movement to the rise of house music in Chicago. Following the presentation and Q&A, guests will enjoy a boxed lunch before having the opportunity to explore Facing Freedom through a self-guided tour. $95; $85 Guild members.
