About This Event

The museum committee, chaired by Nancy Allen, has collected an amazing array of items including a Windsor chair and a trunk that belonged to Revolutionary War soldiers. Also in this collection are numerous household items, such as a bed warmer, a foot warmer (for those coldNew England winters), candle mold, pewter plates and a Betty lamp. There also are reproductions of the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, Bill of Rights andthe flag adopted by Congress in 1777 that has the familiar 13 red and white stripesand 13 white stars on a blue field. We have recently learned that John Hunt was a soldier in the Revolutionary War, which makes this display even more meaningful! The exhibit also features informational signage created by our historian, Sandra Turgeon, in both the Museum and Education Center. The signs include biographies of Revolutionary War soldiers, stories of women and children andthe roles they played, and a timeline of the War. Please make a point to see this special display. Join us for a docent led tour of The Hunt House Museum during our monthly open house. Open House is free to the public. 12 PM Hike: Meet at Gazebo 1-3 PM Ancestry Research: Education Center
