Summer Reading Program Wrap-Up Party Featuring Fizzical Fairytales

Scavenger Hunt! Make your own zine! Inflatable slide! Children's archaeology-and-singing-themed theater performance! Help us close out the summer with a dino-sized paleontological palooza. All are welcome to join the fun - whether you logged time reading or not. Readers who logged 30 hours or more (15 if you're under 7) are invited to pat yourselves on the back with pizza, dinosaur Legos, and exclusive access to the inflatable slide at the end of the day. Schedule of Events: 11:00 AM • Fizzical Fairy Tales: Finding Rhymes as Diggy Digs Finding Rhymes as Diggy Digs: A Little History of Nursery Rhymes Dierdre Diggy Trowel, Archaeologist, and her partner, Dug, sift through Medieval evidence of well-known children's songs and rhymes. Inspect the treasure they find, sing the songs they unearth, and play games children played hundreds of years ago! All the while, you'll be learning a little about the lives of children in the Middle Ages. Finding Rhymes as Diggy Digs is a 50 minute show for audiences ages 4 - 10. Fizzical Fairytales is a Bennington, Vermont-based children's traveling theater. 1:00 PM • Zines! with Gretchen Hammell If you can dream, you can zine! Tell the world about your favorite thing; nothing is off limits. You have eight pages and a world of creativity to write a message, make art, share some facts, or change someone's mind. What will you make your zine about? Artist Gretchen Hammell is here to teach us the zine basics, share supplies, and get us started on the road to creative self-publishing. 2:30 - 4 PM • VIP Dinosaur Pizza Party It's the most exclusive event of the summer! Readers who logged 30 hours or more (15 if you're under the age of 7) are invited to pat themselves on the back with pizza, dinosaur LEGO, and exclusive access to the inflatable slide for the afternoon.
