Join FreeChelsea’s Housing & Community Development (HCD) Department will host an open house at Bosson Park on Wednesday, May 6, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The event is an opportunity to connect with the people leading the City’s HCD initiatives in the areas of housing, transportation and transit, economic development, open space, and climate and sustainability. This event is free and open to the public. Free empanadas while supplies last. The open house will provide residents with resources and information about projects and initiatives that directly improve their quality of life. It also serves as an opportunity for residents to ask questions and share feedback directly with public officials. During the event, staff will present on the following projects, programs, and resources: Housing: Chelsea’s First Time Home Buyer Program, energy & utility cost-saving programs, and new lead abatement and housing rehabilitation programs. Transportation and Transit: Chelsea’s Vision Zero Initiative to end traffic fatalities and affordable transit options such as RC Link & the City’s Bluebikes bikeshare program. Economic Development: Fiesta Football (coming June 2026), Discover Chelsea, and the City’s Workforce Development Action Plan Open Space: Projects to redesign and revitalize Chelsea’s Bellingham Hill Park, Polonia Park, Kayem Park, and Voke Park Tot Lot. Climate Resilience & Sustainability: Chelsea’s Mill Creek Project, community cleanups, green zoning efforts, and Climate Resilience Hubs Bosson park is located at 50 Bellingham Street (at the intersection of Bellingham Street, Grove Street, and Shawmut Street). In the event of rain, the open house will be moved indoors to the second floor of City Hall, located 500 Broadway.
