About this event
Tough Old Bird was formed by songwriting brothers Matthew and Nathan Corrigan in a rural corner of Western New York. Since releasing 'Gambling Days' in 2016, the band's lineup has expanded to feature Ricky Bechard on drums and Brendan O'Shea on bass. Tough Old Bird's latest album, 'Garden Dream' is the band's fullest and most collaborative effort to date. Born out of years of songwriting, the record finds the band layering new sounds while mining childhood memories and grown-up heartbreak to explore themes of moving on and moving forward---as children, and as adults. "The duo of Matthew and Nathan Corrigan draw influences from traditional folk music that maps out dusty and sepia-tinted landscapes with its songwriting, as well as the modern context of rust belt melancholia... They possess the inherent sadness of Iron & Wine's songwriting, the intricate guitar licks of Milk Carton Kids, and the persistent dancing banjo of the Avett Brothers." - Buffablog
