FDOT 135th St. Resurfacing Project

Event dates: May 12, 2026 - May 12, 2027Event Time: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PMLocation: Opa-Locka, FL 33054Description:Drivers traveling along NW 135 Street between NW 47 Avenue and NW 30 Avenue should prepare for upcoming roadway improvements beginning in May 2026. The Florida Department of Transportation project will include repaving and restriping the roadway, upgrading traffic signals and signage, improving crosswalks and sidewalks, and installing new traffic detection technology to enhance safety and traffic flow. Construction will take place in phases through early 2027, with temporary lane closures expected during nighttime hours from 8:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. on both weekdays and weekends. Drivers are encouraged to use caution in work zones, follow posted detour signs, and allow extra travel time while improvements are underway. Access to local businesses and residences will remain open throughout the project.
