Tree Lighting at City Hall

To continue to give back to the residents of Presque Isle, the City is pleased to announce the rebirth of an annual tradition – the lighting of a City Christmas tree.  The event will take place Friday, December 5 in front of City Hall.  Luminaries lining Second Street will add to the festive occasion. From 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, horses decked out for the holiday and possibly a carriage, both weather dependent, will also be present. The tree lighting will take place at 5:30 pm regardless of weather.  Santa will be present in the lobby following the tree lighting and until 7:15 pm. At 5:45 pm, Molly the Trolley will begin transporting interested individuals to the library where Mrs. Claus will greet them and direct them to a reading of a Christmas book by the elves.  (Please note seating aboard the trolley is limited.) The trolley will return to City Hall to transport a second group to Mrs. Claus’s library at 6:15 pm.  Return trips from the library to City Hall will take place immediately after the second group disembarks from the trolley with the final trip back to City Hall at 7:00 pm.  For more information, please call City Hall at (207) 764-2501.
