Board of Zoning Appeals: Notice of Public Hearing

Because a quorum will not be present for the BZA meeting scheduled on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, all agenda items will instead be presented at the BZA meeting on Monday, May 11, 2026.The City of Franklin Board of Zoning Appeals will conduct a public hearing on Wednesday,  April 22, May 11 2026, at 5:30 p.m. on the following cases:1.    BZA 26-04 Variance Application | 1276, 1288, 1296 E. 2nd Street (Route 73) Parcels #0426452005, 0426452006, 0426452007 - The applicant, OH Franklin East 2nd, LLC c/o John Whitson, is requesting variances regarding the location of the loudspeaker and menu board sign for the proposed Dutch Bros development on the corner of E. 2nd Street and East Lawn Drive (1276, 1288, 1296 E. 2nd Street), the property is located in the C-1 General Commercial District.2.    BZA 26-05 Administrative Appeal | 400 Commerce Center Drive | Definition of a Roof Sign – The applicant, Jane Fiehrer, Sign Connection, has submitted an administrative appeal pursuant to Section 1115.10(e), challenging Staff’s interpretation of the City’s UDO regarding the definition and classification of “roof sign” The sign is proposed at 400 Commerce Center Drive, Lee's Famous Recipe Chicken, the property is located in the C-1 "General Commercial District."Any and all interested persons are invited to attend and speak on these cases at the public hearing.  The meeting shall be held at the Franklin Municipal Building, 1 Benjamin Franklin Way, Franklin, Ohio 45005.Matt BrickingBoard of Zoning Appeals Chair
