City of St. Petersburg to Host Juneteenth Celebration Featuring Music, Education, and Community June 3, 2026 – The City of St. Petersburg Parks & Recreation Department invites the community to celebrate Juneteenth at the Sunshine Senior Center on Friday, June 12, from 1 - 3 p.m. The afternoon celebration will honor the history and cultural significance of Juneteenth through engaging activities, live entertainment, and opportunities for learning and connection. This event is free; registration is required to attend. Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States and is widely recognized as a day of reflection, celebration, and education.
