Opening Celebration at Highland Falls Preserve

Come explore the Hudson Valley's newest hiking and picnic spot! Join us for the grand opening of Highland Falls Preserve as part of the Village of Highland Falls' 120th anniversary Founder's Day celebration. This free event will kick off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and continue with fun activities for all ages. Enjoy a guided walk, community meal, drum circle, and art projects led by our partners at Strawtown Studio, whose superpower is connecting young people with the natural world through art and science discovery. The new Highland Falls Preserve is 32 acres of Hudson Highlands rock ledges and pitch-pine forest with a community picnic area and stunning Hudson River views. It was made possible through a collaborative partnership between Scenic Hudson, the Village, and a committee of dedicated residents, and will be managed by the Village. Please note: There will be no on-site parking available on the day of the event. We recommend using the dedicated parking areas listed on the village's 120th celebration website and taking a short walk to the preserve's entrance at 20 Havens Road.
