Amplified Sundays featuring Chispa

Live music accompanied by spectacular sunsets over the Hudson River. July 5: Wayne Tucker and the Bad Mothas / energetic, improvisational jazz July 12: Gentleman Brawlers / psychedelic Afro-soul revival and indie dance July 19: Dawn Drake and ZapOte / genre-defying pop, funk, and groove July 26: Chispa / love songs for the land rooted in the musical traditions of Latin America Chispa is a music project dreaming of composting systems of oppression, reconnecting with the land, and channeling the power of queer love. Rooted in musical traditions of Latin America and the Caribbean, such as Cumbia and Bolero, the project is led by vocalist and songwriter Julia Rocha-Nava, alongside Sebastin ngel-Romero (Guitar), Moby Lola Irizarry (Congas), lee hooper (Flute), Jamila Ravel (Bass) and Daniela Serna (Percussion). Chispas debut album, Somos Medicina, is a collection of queer love songs for the land. The project has received support from the New Music USA Creator Fund and the Brooklyn Arts Councils Creative Equations Grant for Justice, Sustainability, and Equity and the 2025 Performing Artist in Residence at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Chispa is known for live performances that are both energetic and tender'inviting audiences to dance, sing, and heal together through songs that celebrate friendship, seed saving, and collective liberation. Summer on the Hudson events are free and open to the public. Seating is limited, unreserved, and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
