Gran Posada

Cathedral, Reynolds Hall & Courtyard Join us for one of Christ Church Cathedral's most joyful Advent traditions: La Gran Posada! La Posada commemorates Mary and Joseph's journey as they searched for shelter before the birth of Jesus. People of all ages and from every Cathedral service are invited to come together for an evening of bilingual worship, food, music, procession, and celebration. The evening begins at 5 p.m. with a contemplative bilingual Eucharist in the Cathedral. At 6 p.m., we gather in Reynolds Hall for a festive supper, followed by a special program at 6:30 p.m. Then, at 7 p.m., the Gran Posada begins. Together we will sing and process through the Cathedral campus, knocking on doors as we symbolically accompany the Holy Family in their search for shelter. Once shelter is found, the celebration continues with piñatas, dancing, treats for children, and fellowship.
