About This Event

Join Close to Home exhibiting artist Josh Aronson for Photo Book Speed Date, a playful, artist-led program designed to spark connection through a shared love of photo books. About Photo Book Speed Date with Josh Aronson Photo Book Speed Date is a playful, artist-led program by Miami-based photographer Josh Aronson. Designed to spark connection through a shared love of photo books, this lively exchange mimics the format of a traditional speed date--without the romance. Bring a beloved photo book or art book and share pages in quick, timed rotations, creating brief but meaningful conversations inspired by images, stories, and personal reflections. Open to photographers, artists, students, collectors, book lovers, and anyone interested in connecting through photography and visual storytelling. Read about Photo Book Speed Date in The Miami Herald , on Feature Shoot, and on Dazed's Art Shows To Leave The House For. This program is presented in conjunction with Close to Home, an exhibition featuring artists from the South Florida community whose creative sources are their private worlds and the emotional ties that most intimately define them. The Museum Store will additionally offer 2-for-1 wine and have photography and art books available for purchase. Become a member of NSU Art Museum for 10% discount off all store and café purchases. Sunday, September 27 2 - 5 pm At NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale Josh Aronson (b. 1994, Toronto, Canada; lives and works in Miami, FL) Josh Aronson is a Miami-based artist whose work examines identity, community, and belonging. Raised in Miami, he discovered photography as a high schooler, later developing a practice that explores masculinity in the American South through staged narrative photography. He collaborates with Miami's emerging arts community, casting local talent and inviting participants to perform in his images. Beyond his photographic practice, Aronson cultivates community and artistic dialogue through public programs. He founded Photo Book Speed Date to connect the arts community through a shared engagement with photo books.
