DESIGNING THE POSTER: IMAGE AND ACTION w/ JOHN + DAVID Two-day | Friday, August 7, 5:30 - 8:30PM AND Saturday, August 8, 3 - 6 PM | Sliding Scale This two-day workshop blends historical context with hands-on making to explore how typography, imagery, and composition interact to build an effective poster. After an introduction to core design principles, participants will spend this workshop developing their own visual language to produce a poster using analog and digital techniques. Through demonstrations, critiques, and collaborative discussion, participants will leave with a deeper understanding of design as a tool for social change. No previous experience necessary! ____ John Kudos and David Jon Walker are cofounders of WeType and partners at KASA Collective. Drawing from their work designing exhibitions, public experiences, and typefaces rooted in cultural research, David and John will guide participants through the anatomy of an effective poster--from message and audience to hierarchy, format, and production.
