Join FreeOn Monday, August 31st, our community will join Centerstone (formerly Clarity Health Care) in recognizing Overdose Awareness Day with a memorial event dedicated to raising awareness and educating our community about overdose while honoring those whose lives have been lost and supporting individuals, families, and communities impacted by substance use. As a campus community, John Wood Community College will participate in a Purple Out on August 31st. We encourage every member of the Blazer Family to wear purple as a visible sign of support, remembrance, and hope. By wearing purple, we stand together to raise awareness, honor lives affected by overdose, support those in recovery, and help reduce the stigma surrounding substance use and recovery. If you would like to show your support beyond wearing purple, Centerstone has Overdose Awareness Day T-shirts for purchase. To receive your shirt before the event, orders must be placed by Sunday, August 9th. You can order your shirt here. Please make sure to pay special attention to the Hannibal and Quincy shirt options. Thank you for joining us in recognizing this important day. Together, we can honor those we have lost, support those on the path to recovery, and help build greater awareness, understanding, and compassion throughout our community.
