Member Curator-Led Tour: Fall 2026 Exhibitions Art in Context Event Series

Advocate Members and above are invited to a private Curator-Led Tour of The Contemporary Austin's fall exhibitions, The Living Temple: The World of Moki Cherry and HOST: Laura Lit. Begin the evening with a complimentary happy hour from 6-6:30P, followed by an in-depth tour of the exhibitions. The Living Temple: The World of Moki Cherry is the largest exhibition in the United States to date celebrating the boundary-breaking work of Swedish artist and designer Moki Cherry. Through colorful textiles, costumes, posters, ceramics, sculpture, video, sound, and archival materials, the exhibition traces a holistic practice that dissolved boundaries between home and stage, art and everyday life. Guests will also explore the Jones Center presentation of HOST: Laura Lit, featuring a suite of intensive colored-pencil drawings that serve as the starting point for Lit's sculptural process. When considered in relation to her outdoor installation at Laguna Gloria, these works on paper trace the throughline between drawing and sculpture at the center of her multidisciplinary practice. Together, the exhibitions consider art as a lived and expansive practice--one shaped by material experimentation, domestic space, imagination, collaboration, and the transformation of ideas into form. 6-6:30P Happy hour in the Jones Center lobby 6:30-7:30P Curator-led tour Space is limited.
