Preserving Democracy with Ambassador James Story

Shifting political landscapes are reshaping the future of democracy in our hemisphere. On September 17th, Ambassador Story will join us at the Latin American Cultural Center in Oakland to discuss how international partnerships and diplomacy can preserve critical institutions and processes during these challenging times. As a senior fellow at Georgetown University, the former U.S. Ambassador to Venezuela focused on the rise of illiberal states in the Americas. Drawing on that expertise, decades of work in the foreign service, and senior-level diplomatic experience, he will share his insights on present day threats, opportunities, and the future of Democracy in the Americas.
