Music Together | Summer Session (9:30)

Music is fundamental to the human experience and there are a variety of studies which indicate that music can enhance our health. So Healthy New Albany loves including Music Together as part of our community programs, as it provides another opportunity to cultivate and inspire healthy living in our community. These weekly, 45-minute mixed-age family classes include songs, rhythmic chants, movement, instrument play, and of course lots of fun! These activities are presented as informal, non-performance-oriented musical experiences- developmentally appropriate for children and easy for parents and caregivers, regardless of their own musical ability. Each week, a trained Music Together teacher leads the class in singing, dancing, and playing songs that range from tender lullabies to boisterous jams using child-friendly percussion instruments. Our award-winning music, illustrated songbook, and other print and online resources will help you continue the music-making fun at home and nurture your child's musical growth?even if you don't think of yourself as a great singer or dancer. Like parenting, making music requires no previous experience or expertise, just a willingness to get down on the floor and get silly with your child! Included in registration: a CD, an MP3 downloadable version of the song collection, a Songbook, a new family music development booklet, a Music Together growth chart, access to the Music Together Family Music Zone, and the free Hello Everybody app!
