FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: April 21, 2026 MEDIA CONTACTS: Umberto Mignardi, Kevin Higgins, Amanda Martins, Michael Anderson (516) 869-7794; press@northhempsteadny.gov   Clark Botanic Garden to Host Annual Spring Plant Sale  North Hempstead, NY – North Hempstead Town Supervisor Jennifer DeSena, the Town Board, and the Clark Botanic Garden Auxiliary announced that the Annual Spring Plant Sale at Clark Botanic Garden will take place on Friday, May 8, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, May 9, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The sale will feature annuals, perennials, herbs, shrubs, native plants, vegetables, and hanging baskets for purchase. Master gardeners will also be on hand to provide residents with expert advice. The annual sale raises critical funds for the Fanny Dwight Clark Memorial Garden, Inc., a non-profit organization that partners with the Town to support, enhance, and preserve Clark Botanic Garden as a serene, tranquil oasis for all to enjoy. “There’s so much to choose from at the Spring Plant Sale, so if you’re looking to add a little color and variety to your home gardens, we’ve got you covered,” Supervisor DeSena said. “The proceeds from the sale go right back into Clark Garden, so please join us in safeguarding this hidden gem for future generations to enjoy.” On the first day of the sale on Friday, May 8, the Town will also host a FREE Native Tree Seedling Giveaway for North Hempstead residents. Trees will be limited and given out on a first-come, first-served basis. Available species will include: Downy Serviceberry (Amelanchier arborea) American plum (Prunus americana) Eastern redbud (Cercis canadensis) The Plant Sale will also feature: Twice Loved Jewelry & Accessories Boutique An Art Sale Garden Gift Shop Founded in 1969, Clark Botanic Garden is a 12-acre living museum and educational facility dedicated to understanding and appreciating the world's plant life through horticulture, education, and research. Collections in the garden include native spring wildflowers, conifers, roses, perennials, daylilies, wetland plants, rock garden plants, herbs, butterfly plants, medicinal plants, and more than a dozen collections of plant families. The plant sale is rain or shine, and admission is free. Cash, credit cards, or checks will be accepted when purchasing plants. All proceeds will benefit the Fanny Dwight Clark Memorial Garden, Inc.
