Staff was successful at securing funding through the Missouri Department of Natural Resources Recreational Trails Program (RTP), allowing this important community project to move forward. OK Railroad Trail – Phase I includes the rehabilitation of 2,230 linear feet of a 10‑foot‑wide concrete trail, along with an adjacent 4‑foot‑wide lime‑screen running trail. Planned amenities include two benches, a water bottle filling station, a pedestrian counter, trail signage, landscaping and two butterfly gardens, enhancing accessibility, recreation, and environmental stewardship. This project is funded in part by the Recreational Trails Program (RTP), a federally funded assistance program authorized by the U.S. Congress through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), enacted as the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA).
