Join FreeFREE NATIVE TREE & SHRUB GIVEAWAY AT CAMELOT PARK IN UPPER HANOVER PENNSBURG, Pa. -- The Montgomery County Master Watershed Stewards, in collaboration with Upper Hanover Township and the Keystone 10 Million Tree Project (K10), will be holding a FREE native tree and shrub giveaway for Upper Perkiomen Valley property owners on Sunday, September 21st at Camelot Park from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (rain or shine). Residents are welcome to come for a second round of trees at 1:00 while supplies last. Residents and business owners are encouraged to come to the park to receive FIVE free trees or shrubs. More than eighteen types of trees and shrubs, many of them water-tolerant (meaning they will thrive in wet soil conditions), will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. The trees and shrubs are saplings ranging in size from eight inches to three feet. Participants will also receive protective tubes, stakes, and bird netting. Montgomery County Master Watershed Stewards will be on hand to teach attendees how to plant and care for their new trees and shrubs and to provide technical assistance. Because this event is funded by a K10 grant, event organizers are required to geo-locate the addresses where the trees and shrubs will be planted. Giveaway participants will need to provide their contact information, including address, at the registration table. Event organizers also ask that participants bring a box, bag, or bucket to carry their trees home. More information, including the types of trees and shrubs available, can be found at https://sites.google.com/view/upvfreetrees/home
