The BMJ-CUNY SPH Collection Launch

Join us September 15 as we launch the BMJ-CUNY SPH Collection on Protecting Global Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) - a series of articles by collaborators from the Sexual and Reproductive Justice Hub at CUNY SPH providing rigorous analyses and insights on the systems influencing SRHR amidst growing global instability. This event will feature discussions with the Collection's authors, Feminist Cross-Coalition leaders, and other global experts including The BMJ Associate Editor Smruti Patel, SRJ Hub Director Terry McGovern, The Clinton Foundation Vice Chair Chelsea Clinton, and Spain's Secretary of State for Health Dr. Javier Padilla Bernáldez on the latest developments in the fight for SRHR, including the harmful effects of restrictive policies, the decline of multilateralism, the need for feminist civil society, and what advocates in the U.S. can learn from successful strategies in the Global South. Amid global funding gaps, anti-rights movements, and an impending UN reform process that may weaken SRHR protections, this timely BMJ-CUNY SPH Collection seeks not only to identify problems, but to provide guidance to address them. We will collectively examine opportunities to strengthen global systems, foster meaningful partnerships, and promote equitable access to health and rights worldwide.
