Join us on Saturday, July 18 from 12-3 PM at the August Wilson African American Cultural Center for a FREE, fun-filled day of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics for the whole family! All activities are from 12-3pm unless otherwise specified. This event is co-presented by: UPMC/UPMC Health Plan and Howmet Aerospace Foundation, with additional support provided by PPG Foundation, Duquesne Light Company, Pittsburgh Regional Transit, and RAD. 1st Floor Vendor Market Food and Beverage by Café Ase Sounds by DJ KB Mad Science Lab Citizens Science Lab Carnegie Science Center Moonshot Museum Assemble Carnegie Library Face Painting with Markeeta Balloon Making with Mike the Balloon Guy Bubble Party on the Patio with Happy Bubbles Free Water Ice from Happy Day Dessert -- Patio STEAM in Motion by Dr. CC 12:30pm-12:45pm STEAM in Motion combines fitness, fun, and hands-on learning as families use their bodies to explore balance, force, coordination, and creativity. Musical Performance by Cordell 1pm-1:30pm Dance Performance by Savionne Chamber & Company 2pm-2:30pm University of Pittsburgh CEC -- Hill District Explore hands-on STEM fun with community partners like Carnegie Science Center, Moonshot Museum, Citizens Science Lab, Mad Science Lab, Assemble, and more. Cadence Collection The Cadence Collage workshop gives families the opportunity to create their own unique tote bags and collage masterpieces. Participants will explore rhythms, patterns, and textures to design a one-of-a-kind accessory that reflects their personal style and creativity. 2nd Floor Vendor Market Houzeofwaxx -- Studio / Radio Families will be able to build, tune, and race cars on a controlled racetrack. This activity shows how electrical energy is stored in a battery, how the shape of a car's body determines airflow, how friction works when choosing certain tires, and more. Read to Dream with Young Dreamers Bookstore -- Highmark Room Families will be invited to discover the joy of reading through engaging Storytime experiences and literary activities.
