Carroll County Sheriff's Wife Arrested for Theft

Rachel Sawyers, wife of the newly elected Carroll County Sheriff, was arrested and charged with theft of property over $1,000 and fraudulent use of a debit card. Her arrest follows a Tennessee Comptroller’s Office investigation into alleged misappropriation of funds from the Clarksburg School Parent-Teacher Organization. She is accused of making unauthorized personal purchases using the organization's debit card.
