CUNY SPH Alumni Meet-Up at Sammy's Fish Box

CUNY SPH alumni are invited to join our Fall 2026 Alumni Meet Up at Sammy's Fish Box on City Island! Reconnect with fellow CUNY SPH alumni and enjoy a fall afternoon on City Island in the Bronx at Sammy's Fish Box, located at 41 City Island Avenue, Bronx, NY 10464. A beloved City Island landmark since 1966, Sammy's Fish Box has grown from a small snack bar into a New York institution serving more than one million meals each year. You can view their menu before the event if you'd like to explore dining options. All food purchases will be on your own. We will be seated as a group to allow for mingling with fellow alumni. Please RSVP to let us know you're coming through Eventbrite. Family and friends are welcome to attend. When registering, simply indicate the number of guests accompanying you. Getting there is easy by car, rideshare, bicycle, or public transportation. The BxM8 express bus travels from Midtown Manhattan through the Upper East Side, while the Bx29 connects to the 6 train at Pelham Bay Park. Several parking lots are located near the restaurant. See location via Google Maps. If you'd like to make a day of it, consider visiting nearby Orchard Beach or Pelham Bay Park before or after the event. Both are just a short distance away and accessible via local bus connections. You can take the BxM8 or Bx29 buses and transfer to the Bx12 bus to Orchard Beach.
