About This Event

Bee a community scientist. Meet us in the Pollinator Garden to take part in the 2026 Great Southeast Pollinator Census. Observe a plant of your choice for 15 minutes and record which bees, butterflies, or other pollinators stop by! Count sheets and insect ID guides provided. Free with Gardens admission or membership. No pre-registration required. Sunscreen, hats, bug spray, and reusable water bottles encouraged. Weather permitting. *** About the Great Southeast Pollinator Census: This community science project was started by Becky Griffin (University of Georgia Extension) with three goals in mind: to create sustainable pollinator habitat, increase the entomological literacy of our communities, and generate useful data about pollinator populations. The first statewide count took place in Georgia in 2019, and the census has continued to grow ever since, with Florida joining in 2024. Learn more at gsepc.org
