UXO Safety

Did you know that parts of Windward Oʻahu and other former WWII-era training locations may still contain Unexploded Ordnance (UXO)? The organization Laukoa will provide resources and information about UXO, how to recognize potential hazards, and explain safe response actions based on the DENIX 3Rs program. Their goal is to help keep communities safe by increasing awareness and reinforcing the 3Rs of UXO Safety: Recognize, Retreat, and Report. All ages are welcome to attend. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible. Advance requests 48 hours or more before the event are encouraged, but not required. All programs are subject to change.
