Join FreeEnterprise Parks and Recreation will offer a new summer swim program aimed at helping young swimmers strengthen their technique and build confidence in the water. The Swim Strong Clinic is a new program for swimmers ages 7-12 (as of June 1, 2026) who are already comfortable swimming independently and are interested in improving their overall swimming ability and competitive swim fundamentals. The clinic was developed in response to feedback from the community requesting additional opportunities for youth swimmers beyond traditional swim lessons. “We are excited to introduce this new program and give young swimmers an opportunity to continue developing their skills,” Aquatics Supervisor Jolee Fernandez said. “The Swim Strong Clinic is designed to help participants improve their strength, endurance and confidence in the water while learning proper technique in a fun and encouraging environment.” Participants will focus on freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly, along with flip turns, diving starts, race preparation and endurance training. Sessions will be held Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Enterprise Recreation and Aquatics Center, 421 E. Lee St. The cost is $100 per participant. The program will be offered in three sessions: Session 1: June 16-25 Session 2: June 30-July 9 Session 3: July 14-23 Registration opens June 1 and will be available through the RecDesk platform or in person at the Enterprise Recreation and Aquatics Center. Registration for Session 1 closes June 12 at 4:30 p.m. or when all spots are filled. Registration for Session 2 closes June 26, and Session 3 registration closes July 10. Space is limited to 30 participants per session. The program is not intended for beginner swimmers or swim lessons. Participants must be able to swim independently and provide a copy of their birth certificate during registration. Parents may choose to remain on-site during sessions or drop off and pick up participants, similar to a typical sports practice. For more information, contact Jolee Fernandez at (334) 348-2684.
