K-Kids Awarded Grant for Beach Grass Planting

To help the environment, members of the K-Kids Club at Hampton Bays Elementary School kicked off a project to protect area beaches by planting beach grass. To fund the project, the service club will use a $500 Town of Southampton Youth as Resources Community Service Challenge grant. The students were awarded the grant during the March Hampton Bays School District Board of Education meeting. The students plan to volunteer their time to plant the beach grass at Ponquogue Beach in Hampton Bays on Saturday, April 18.
