DelArt Day Trip from Sussex: Art & Holiday Shopping

Join us for a wonderful day of art, learning, lunch and a little early holiday shopping at the Delaware Art Museum! This special day trip offers something for everyone, with fascinating museum tours, a delicious, boxed lunch and plenty of time to explore our galleries. Your day begins at 8:30 a.m., with departure from the Lowe's parking lot on Route 1. We'll arrive at the museum approximately 10:15 a.m., ready to begin our artistic adventure! You will divide into two groups for a morning tour, then switch in the afternoon so everyone can enjoy both offerings: Transcendent: Landscapes of the Hudson River School -- explore the beauty and inspiration behind some of America's most celebrated landscape paintings. Highlights of DelArt's Collection -- discover highlights from our impressive collection and enjoy a closer look at works spanning centuries of art. Between tours, you gather for a boxed lunch in the Museum's beautiful East Court, or, weather permitting, enjoy lunch outdoors on the terrace. During you lunch break and after your tours, you will have free time to browse the galleries, revisit favorite works or do a little shopping at the newly reimagined DelArt Market, featuring new and exciting merchandise added every week. It's the perfect place to find a special holiday gift--or something wonderful for yourself! At 3:30 p.m., the bus will depart to head back to Lewes, with an expected arrival around 5:30 p.m. Come spend the day with us and experience the Delaware Art Museum in a whole new way--a day filled with inspiration, discovery, good food and great finds!
