About This Event

Don't miss the important opportunity to hear Drew Robinson's Remarkable story of survival, recovery, and resilience. The City of Montgomery is proud to continue its commitment to community wellness and mental health awareness by welcoming former Major League Baseball player and mental health advocate Drew Robinson for a special community presentation on Thursday, October 29. Robinson's story is one of resilience, hope, and the power of seeking help. On April 16, 2020, just days before his 28th birthday, he survived a suicide attempt that forever changed the course of his life. Nearly ten months later, Robinson made the courageous decision to share his experience publicly, helping to raise awareness about mental health challenges, reduce stigma, and encourage important conversations about suicide prevention. Today, Robinson uses his platform to inspire others through his message that Strength Isn't Always Physical®. His presentation offers a powerful reminder that mental health struggles can affect anyone and that hope and healing are possible. Born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, Robinson was drafted by the Texas Rangers out of high school and spent parts of 12 seasons playing professional baseball within the Texas Rangers, St. Louis Cardinals, and San Francisco Giants organizations. Following his recovery, he found a new purpose in helping others navigate mental health challenges and advocating for greater access to support and care. Currently, Robinson works in the Mental Health and Wellness Department with the San Francisco Giants, where he champions player mental health initiatives and peer-to-peer support programs. Through his speaking engagements across the country, he shares his personal journey with honesty and vulnerability, encouraging audiences to prioritize their mental well-being and support those around them. This presentation is expected to be a meaningful and impactful event for community members, parents, educators, coaches, employers, and anyone interested in promoting mental health awareness and supporting those who may be struggling. Don't miss this important opportunity to hear Drew Robinson's remarkable story of survival, recovery, and resilience. Registration opens September 1 at montgomeryohio.gov or call City Hall at 513-894-2121.
