Public Hearing - Planning and Zoning

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE The Martin County Planning Commission/Board of Adjustment will be conducting a public hearing on May 26, 2026 at 5:30 p.m.  The hearing will be held in the Martin County Commissioners Room, located on the first floor of the Courthouse, 201 Lake Avenue – Fairmont, MN.  The following item will be on the agenda: Variance Request from Bradley Schmidt within Section 22 of Lake Belt Township.  Bradley Schmidt is proposing to construct a new home and driveway which will be located closer than the minimum required setback to the ordinary high-water level and closer than the minimum required setback from the road right of way in an “SL-1” Special Protection District. The Martin County Zoning Ordinance requires a 200-foot setback from the ordinary high-water level and 50-foot setback from the road right in an “SL-1” Special Protection District. The above hearing is open to you and any interested persons at which time you may appear if you so desire, either in person or by agent or attorney, in opposition to or in support of the request.  The hearing of this request is not limited to those receiving copies of this notice, and if you know any neighbor or affected property owner who for any reason has not received a copy, it would be appreciated if you would inform them of this hearing.
