About this event

Date: Thursday, October 15 Time: 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM Location: Dell JCC Join us for an exclusive Ladies Lunch & Learn featuring Prof. Khetam Hussein, MD, MBA, Deputy General Director of Galilee Medical Center and one of Israel's most accomplished healthcare and public service leaders. A member of Israel's Druze community, Prof. Hussein has broken barriers throughout her career and earned national recognition for her leadership, including her role on the front lines of Israel's response to the COVID-19 pandemic and her selection as a torch lighter at Israel's 75th Independence Day ceremony. Prof. Hussein will be joined by Smadar Ocampo, RN, MPH, Clinical Supervisor of the Pediatric Division at Galilee Medical Center, whose career reflects a deep commitment to healthcare leadership, humanitarian service, and patient advocacy. Smadar played a central role in caring for wounded Syrian children treated in Israel as part of a humanitarian initiative, working closely with international organizations, the IDF, and families to coordinate life-saving care. Today, she oversees clinical quality across GMC's pediatric services and brings a unique perspective on resilience, compassion, and leadership in times of crisis. In this intimate conversation, these two remarkable women will share their personal and professional journeys, offering unique insights into leadership, service, and the experiences of women and minority communities helping shape Israel's future. Their stories of perseverance, excellence, and impact provide a rare opportunity to hear firsthand from leaders at the forefront of Israeli society. Attendees will also gain a deeper understanding of how gifts to Shalom Austin's Annual Campaign help support the institutions, partnerships, and leaders creating meaningful change across Israel.
