30th Annual Design/Build CompetitionCanstruction Houston's Public Viewing of structures: October 3, 2026 - October 10, 2026 Canstruction Houston's Build Day: October 3, 2026 Canstruction Houston Architects, engineers, designers, contractors and students work in teams to design and build colossal sculptures using canned and other shelf-stable food as their primary building block. Tape and cardboard serve as nails and cement. The colors and designs on food product labels form the artists' pallet. Bricks come in a variety of sizes from the smallest tuna can to the industrial-size tomato can. Food used to build each structure is donated to Houston Food Bank.
