Volunteer Opportunities Lecture

Are you looking to get involved but don’t know where to start?Becky Doherty, the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) Coordinator at the New Hanover County Senior Resource Center will discuss volunteer opportunities in our area at 3PM on Monday, June 15 at the Kure Beach Community Center.Becky loves getting to know new volunteers and works hard to match them with opportunities that align with their skills, passions, and schedule -- and that they find fulfilling.  There are a wide range of volunteer programs both at the Senior Resource Center and with many partnering community organizations (30+ organizations!).Becky will present opportunities such as being a Foster Grandparent, serving meals in Carolina Beach during lunch hours, and providing transportation for adults aged 60+ who no longer drive.  One of the greatest needs right now is for volunteer drivers with the Home-Delivered Meals (HDM) program.Volunteer experiences allow individuals to give back to the community while staying active and engaged, so please plan to attend.
