How does a honey bee see the world? Discover the incredible ways animals experience the world through their senses! Explore how livestock, pollinators, and other farm animals use sight, smell, hearing, touch, and taste to find food, stay safe, and interact with their environment. Through fun, hands-on activities and exploration at Nippert Barn, families will learn how understanding animal senses helps farmers provide thoughtful, compassionate care. Family Discovery Time is a child-focused educational program on a selected topic for children and their families. Literacy and hands-on experiences will be combined to cultivate curiosity and discovery on the farm. Please dress to be out on the farm in our pastures, gardens, and natural areas. We may encounter mud and evidence of our livestock. Please note, the activities are targeted for children ages 5 and up. Younger siblings should be able to enjoy the experience with more adult help. Tickets Admission: $1 per person Registration is required for all attendees Children (ages 5-17) must be accompanied by a registered adult Tickets must be purchased in advance, and due to limited capacity, walk-ins will not be accepted No strollers permitted due to trail conditions Weather Policy This event will take place rain or shine. If weather conditions are unsafe or too extreme, the event may be canceled or rescheduled.
