Released in 1989, Indigo Girls? self-titled major label debut sold over two million copies, powered by hits like ?Closer to Fine? and ?Kid Fears,? launching them as one of the most successful folk duos ever. Over a 35-year career that began in Atlanta clubs, Emily Saliers and Amy Ray have released 16 studio albums, sold more than 15 million records, and earned multiple Grammy Awards. Rolling Stone calls them the ?ideal duet partners.? Beyond music, they are dedicated activists supporting immigration reform, LGBTQ rights, education, death penalty reform, and Indigenous justice. They co-founded Honor the Earth, a nonprofit focused on sustainable Native communities, environmental justice, and renewable energy.
