Open House for Lake Nokomis 50th Street Beach Improvements

Proposed beach improvements at Lake Nokomis 50th Street Beach will focus on stabilizing the beach from erosion and improving overall visitor experience An Open House is planned for Sept.16 to introduce the public to the proposed improvements at Lake Nokomis 50th Street Beach. This project aims to ensure the beach is stable from fluctuating water levels, accommodate required maintenance activities, provide better standard beach amenities and meet critical life safety requirements. Open House Wednesday, September 16 | 5:30-7 pm Location: 50th Street Beach (if inclement weather Nokomis Community Center) The project will incorporate a retaining wall to stabilize the beach, provide better means of beach access including ADA compliant access and provide enhanced beach amenities. These improvements aim to create safer, stable and enjoyable spaces for all beachgoers. Concept plans are available on the project webpage. Final beach improvements will be balanced to align with the budget.
