Volunteer Day - Invasive Bamboo Removal

Join Brackenridge Park's Conservancy Crew for an invasive bamboo removal volunteer event! Help us cut down invasive bamboo growing in the park and prepare it for re-use for the San Antonio Zoo and other community members. We will be removing the bamboo growing along Avenue B. All materials will be provided (loppers, gloves, eye protection, and knee pads). Bring a water bottle, sunblock, and bug spray. Please wear long sleeves, long pants, and close-toed shoes. Parking will be available behind The Acorn School building. Please Note: This event requires lifting of objects up to 20lbs in weight, kneeling on uneven ground, bending over, and navigating tripping hazards. This event is only for participants 14 or older.
