September Chapter Meeting - Speaker Series

Our chapter meeting speaker series returns with Dr. Brian O'Shea, an ornithologist with broad interests in the ecology and conservation of birds, particularly in the Guiana Shield of northeastern South America, where he has worked for more than 25 years. He will be talking about his work with the South Rupununi Conservation Society in Guyana monitoring three globally endangered bird species: the Red Siskin, Hoary-throated Spinetail and Rio Branco Antbird. In addition to his admirable outdoor conservation, Brian is the Collections Manager of Ornithology at the NC Museum of Natural Sciences. You can read more about his work and research here. Also, Forsyth Audubon President Dave Zimmer will present a brief overview of our many achievements over the past year delivering our mission to connect people to birds and their habitats. Exciting plans and volunteer opportunities for the coming year will be discussed!
