Patriot Day Organ Concert

A September 11 Patriot Day concert at Hope Lutheran Church, Cranberry Twp., will feature classic organ music by composers J. S. Bach, Jean Langlais, Cesar Franck, and American composer Leo Sowerby performed by organist Kathy Kemerer. Two works by Leo Sowerby are included in the concert. One, Requiescat in Pace, a somber and triumphant piece, was created by Sowerby in 1920 in memory of those who lost their lives in World War I. This performance will be also dedicated to the memory of those who perished 25 years ago (Sept. 11, 2001) in the terrorist attacks on our nation in New York City, Washington, D. C., and Shanksville, PA. The second composition by Sowerby, Fantasy for Trumpet and Organ (1961), will feature Michael Derrico on trumpet. Join us for this Patriot Day commemorative concert at Hope Lutheran Church, 8070 Rowan Rd., Cranberry Twp., PA 16066 on Friday, Sept. 11, 2026 at 7:30 pm. Admission is free and donations are accepted.
