Mid-Season Hurricane Expo for Seniors

Hurricane season is far from over, and the City of St. Petersburg’s Parks & Recreation Department is making sure older adults are ready for whatever the storm may bring. The Sunshine Senior Center is hosting the Mid-Season Hurricane Expo for Seniors on Wednesday, July 31, from 1-3:30 p.m., offering essential resources, expert guidance, and a few handy giveaways in prep for the storm season. This free event is designed specifically for seniors and caregivers, and will feature: Guest speakers and local emergency experts Preparedness vendors and informational tables Special needs shelter registration assistance Medication planning and home safety tips Free hurricane kits for the first 100 registered households And yes, free ice cream. Whether you’re updating an emergency plan or starting from scratch, this event offers a one-stop shop to help ensure seniors stay safe, informed, and prepared.
